It was in the year 2020 when I quit my job. On March 14th 2020, we had a farewell party in Las Vegas. During mid March, I learned of Covid outbreak & stayed quarantined in Las Vegas.
Our house were sold in April and everything was gone except we each had a suitcase & a carry-on & a car. We sold our car right before flying to Aruba on Dec 31st. We couldn’t travel overseas in 2020 as plan due to pandemic so we decided to road trip USA following protocols. We stayed at mostly Airbnbs every month & sometimes hotels for a few days. Looking back, we have covered a lot of ground in one year. It seems like it has been at least 3 years. On top of the places visited that are listed below, we covered 10 US National Parks last year. We should probably called ourselves, “The Crazy Nomad Couple.”
Below is our Travel Timeline for 2020January – Flight to Panama City
May – Road trip to Grand Circle National Park (Zion NP, Bryce NP, Capitol Reef NP, Arches NP, Lake Powell, Monument Valley)
June – Packed up in one car & left Las Vegas
June 15th – Road trip to Utah (Pine Valley, Sand Hollow, Snow Canyon etc), then Lake Tahoe, CA and Reno, NV
July – Road trip to Salt Lake for Yellowstone NP adventure ( WY, SD, ID, MT), then return back to Salt Lake City.
Road trip to Colorado, stopped in Utah again ( Hite). Then continued to Colorado ( Durango, Ouray, Silverton)
July 9th – New Mexico ( Albuquerque, Chimayo, Santa France, Taos, Roswell, Carlsbad Cavern NP, Alamorgordo, Hot Springs, Los Alamos) and El Paso, Guadalupe NP in Texas
Aug 9th – Back to Colorado (Trinidad, Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs)
Denver, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain NP, Boulder, Georgetown, Idaho Springs, Fort Collins etc)
Sep 11th – Wyoming and Nebraska
Sep 14th – Road trip to Colorado yet again (Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen, Frisco, Loveland, Leadville, Steamboat Springs etc)
Oct- Phoenix AZ, Saguaro NP
Dec 1st – Flight to Aruba
Dec 31st – Puerto Morelos, Mexico
