Must Do Outdoor Activities in Los Cabos

Los Cabos is one of the most popular destinations in Mexico with plenty of activities to uncover and a very lively nightlife, tasty cuisine, golf, surfing, all- inclusive resorts and bars. Los Cabos is not a city but a region. It is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.

The best time to visit Cabo is from May to June, and October and November.

Hotel

We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos- It is located right on the beach. The Greek styled resort is amazingly beautiful. The property is well maintained, and clean. There is a big pool like a lazy river and you see flamingos, parakeets, turtles and koi fish on the property. There is a cruise ship that you see every other day. What a beautiful view especially at night. They have theme nights and activities. On Tuesday they had a Mexican show and dinner which was memorable. The mariachi band was so talented. The food at the several restaurants onsite were fresh and delicious. The drinks were strong.

At the beach the cabanas and lounge chair is first come first serve. You have a server to serve you all day as you swim and tan all day long as you wish. We stayed here for 6 days and all inclusive. The luxury suite was tastefully decorated and the view from the balcony is fantastic. You can see El Arco, the beach, and the pool. The room service was nice, they set up table cloth and utensils and not just leave the food on the table. The free wifi has strong signal.

EL ARCO

A natural archway that is a signature landmark of Cabo San Lucas. Best to take a boat tour to see it from the water. The rock formation is beautiful and we saw wildlife such as you can sea lions at the base of it. The boat also stop by the beaches nearby called Lovers’ Beach and Divorce Beach.

El Arco

LOVER’S BEACH

One of the most romantic and photographed beaches in the Los Cabos region: Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach), where El Arco rises out of the sea. You can get dropped off at this beautiful stretch of sand to spend a few hours enjoying the sand and sea. The reason it is called Lover’s Beach because it is so private and secluded: the perfect place for a day out with your loved ones. It’s a very tranquil experience. Only during busy days, you will find local vendors selling snacks and renting out beach umbrellas, but otherwise there are no facilities on the beach. Take a swim, snorkel or sunbathed. The bay is known to have an impressive marine ecosystem, so enjoy the array of tropical fish while you explore the clear, warm water on the Sea of Cortez side of the beach.

SWIM WITH DOLPHINS

You can encounter one of the most playful and fascinating animals and swim alongside them in a safe and enclosed environment. Dolphin Discovery is 25 minutes away in San Jose del Cabo. We got the special for $140 Dolphin swim and ride for 2 people and includes transportation from our hotel we are staying. When we arrived there the tour guide who spoke excellent English gave orientation, then we put on life jacket and head out into the dolphin habitat. There are two Dolphins Maya and Poseidon whom we interacted with. There were 6 others joined us. The water was very cold. The Dolphins did their jumps, and cute tricks and got kisses from them. Then we swam a little distance where we held out our left hand and tapped twice on the water and the dolphin came toward me and I grabbed on both of the fins and glided on its belly. The second one I had boogie board and the dolphin came and you don’t see them as they are under the water as they swam and suddenly I felt it’s nose pushed on my left foot the whole time as I glided through the water. It was exhilarating. There are also other options like encounter with dolphin, all inclusive and royal swim plus.
The photo costs $150 and you get a CD with about 75 pictures and 3 printouts of your choice. The camera they used were great as the pictures came out beautiful.

WATCH A SUNSET

There’s nothing better than enjoying a sunset with a cocktail in hand, feeling the warm ocean breeze and your bare feet in the sand. I like beachfront bars, where the floor is made of sand and you don’t need to worry about dress code.

There are no shortage of different bars and restaurants in Cabo San Lucas that line the beach and offer you a beautiful view of the sunset.

LUXURY AVENUE

Although this is not an outdoor activities, it was fun to check out the mall. The main mall is Paraiso Mall, where you can find souvenirs, gifts, trinkets, beach fashion and many more. You will come across the high end retail stores called Luxury Avenue. Spend some time here to cool off from the hot sun.

SPEND A DAY RELAXING

It’s nice to spend a day on the white sand beaches, enjoying the drinks and swim.

Other Outdoor Activities
