We all want to find the best places to eat and Las Vegas is no exception for great food. Las Vegas covers just about all kinds of food imaginable at every price point.
While everyone has that go-to local restaurant near their home, as a local, I too have my favorite local restaurants and they are all located off The Strip.
1.Americana ( American $$$)
Tucked away in Desert Shores Lake Community, this hidden gem is one of my top favorite restaurant. They have the best food and beautiful views! If the weather is nice, we normally seat outside overlooking the lake. Such beautiful and romantic setting! Their Brunch with the option of unlimited mimosas are amazing.
For drinks- Try their Champayne and Roos Smoked Old Fashion Bourbon. For meals, their Grilled Octopus, Lamb Chops, Crab Fried Rice and Rainbow Trout are delicious.
Everything is unbeliveably tasty. The service is also top notch.
Oh don’t forget to order their Chocolate Peanut Bar. It was one of the best desert I have had. They even brought us a complimentary Raspberry Macaroons. Awesome treat end to an incredible meal.

2. Izakaya Go ( Japanese $$)
Izakaya Go is located in Chinatown; Valley View and Spring mountain. It is a great place for an authentic Japanese tapas food experience. The place is small but trendy.
The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters, sushi burritos and traditional dishes. All the food we ordered were exquisite. I have to say the Ramen burger was different and something we never had before and was very delicious. It had a fried egg and a large piece of pork cooked to tender with large portion of seasoned fries that taste like sweet potato goodness. A standout for me was the fresh octopus ball. It came in six and they had a nice flavor and as you chew it had different textures. The Poki “Burrito” was fresh as well. The portion is bigger then a typical sushi rolls, and instead of tortilla a sheet of nori seaweed with rice help contained all the ingredients. Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab served with ponzu sauce was fresh and crispy with a light batter and so was the fried baby octopus. You also get a cup of complementary green tea in the end.
The seafood were fresh and flown in from Japan. They have a wide selection of sake.
The servers are always welcoming and attentive.

3. Japaneiro ( Asian Fusion, Japanese, French $$)
This restaurant looks casual and the lounge music was soothing. We always go for their Chef’s special, a 7 course meal for $150 for two people.
Aside from the high quality and unique taste, I was impressed by the presentation of each dish.
Some of the dishes we had are-
Teramoto Scallop with uni
Kumamoto Oyster Uni Foie Gras
Nigerian Prawns with Yuzu Cilantro
Truffle Bone Marrow & Filet
The waiter is super friendly, and explained what each dishes were and tips on how to eat and savor the dish. He also introduced several Sake and we found them very flavorful.

4. Mariscos El Puerto ( Seafood $$)
This is now our seafood Mexican spot. The food, vibe, the place was just spectacular! I felt like I was in Mexico. The menu is vast, very authentic, not all items are in English. The complimentary salsa and chips were so addictive and tasty.
Cuarto Esquintas ( 4 kinds of Ceviche) $19.99. The ceviche tasted super fresh and light. Huge portion. I had Caldo 7 Mares ( seafood soup) $15.99. The broth was so amazing and seafood were so fresh. Their portion are huge.
Their drinks comes in a cute big glasses.

5. Pro Kabob ( Afghan, Persian, Halal $)
This is a hole in the wall hidden gem! Pro Kabob Persian Restaurant is tucked away in a vacant complex near the corner of Sahara and Valley View. The google direction is not very accurate. It is in the shopping center where Carl’s Jr and Sprint are located. This place serves authentic Afghan food.
The place is clean and casual with some seatings. It is family owned. The owner is nice. I come here for their lamb chops only $12.99 well-seasoned with cumin, each of the three pieces are nicely seared, bursting with juicy flavor of meat inside. The kabob plates came with salad, pita bread and delicious pilaf with raisins and shredded carrots. Also I love Boolani, it is a flat-bread from Afghanistan, baked or fried with a vegetable filling. It has a thin crust and can be stuffed with a variety of ingredients, such as potatoes, chives, lentils, pumpkin, or leeks. It can be served with plain yogurt or mint yogurt.
Their housemade traditional (chatni gashneez)–an acidic cilantro/vinegar chutney was amazing.
The prices on the menu were very affordable with big portions.

6. Fat Choy ( American, Asian Fusion $$)
Fat Choy is located inside Eureka Casino off Sahara Ave. It is an American-Asian fare that consists of salads, rice, noodles, bao, waffles, beer, icecream etc. I like the small varieties on the menu so doesn’t make it overwhelming.
Their Pork Belly Bao is a must- consisting of pickled mustard greens, cilantro, crushed peanuts. It was tender, moist and fresh. One of the best I have had. We also get their Short Rib Grilled Cheese that consists of pulled beef short ribs, onion jam, provolone, cheddar, marinara dip, fries or salad. Everything on the menu are superb. The lucky Buddha beer is tasteful.
The price is decent and the service friendly.

7. Khulmat Kitchen ( Korean $$)
Authentic and delicious! The restaurant is quaint and cozy with TV showing Korean drama and music.
I learned everything is all made from scratch, fresh & tasty. The menu is simple with photos of each dishes. They are different from other Korean restaurant as they do not serve AYCE or BBQ but served homemade individual dishes.
After we ordered, you are given 4 complementary side dishes. The food came out fast too.
We had Dumplings, Hot pot Bibimbab, Spicy Tofu seafood soup and Fish cake.
I personally love the Spicy Tofu seafood soup. The soup has octopus, mussel, tofu, shrimp and clams and an egg on the side to add it to the hot pot. If you like spicy I would recommend that.
The lady/owner was very friendly.

8. Chuchote Thai Bistro & deserts ( Thai $$)
This is a family owned restaurant that serves Southern Thai food. They have a large selection of Thai sweet & sour drinks & traditional Thai desserts. When I first entered this place, it has a very authentic ambiance, and inviting atmosphere.
The food is the main reason I give 5 stars and it is fairly priced. My favorites are
~Pad See Ew Noodles with beef. That’s what I order in every Thai restaurant. Large chunks of beef on top of perfect stir fried flat rice noodles, with egg, garlic, and broccoli with black bean sauce. It was not oily compared to other places.
~Thai Sukiyaki Noodles is a stir fried silver noodles with shrimp, chicken, egg, napa cabbage, carrots, cilantro and green onion. It was packed with flavor.
Other favorites are Pork Jerky, Chicken Wings, Tom Kha and Pad Khee Mao.
The presentation of the dishes and desserts are beautiful and everything is cooked fresh to order at a spice level from 1 to 10. The service is great too!

9. Mordeo Boutique Wine Bar ( Tapas, Spanish $$ )
Chic restaurant and wine bar. Food and drinks were amazing!
We ordered
Pork belly Skewer
Spicy Shoyu chinese broccoli
Maine Lobster Ceviche
Pulpo ( grilled octopus)
Grilled whole fish (Sea Bass)
Nothing disappoint, our fave if we had to pick was the Pulpo ( grilled octopus). We were so impressed by the presentation of each dish aside from the high quality, fresh and uniqueness of the taste.
Service was prompt and friendly. I would suggest making reservations. The price is little on the higher side but it’s worth every penny! Highly recommend!!

10. Strip View Cafe ( American $$)
The decor seems DIY but in a cute way. Really nice seating outside.
From the moment I tasted their homemade Lentil soup, I knew I would be back. I also sipped my Coconut Mocha Frapp and it was delicious.
I like their BALT Panini that came with a choice of soup and we chose Chicken noodle that came out to be tasty as well. Also must have is Fig and Prosciutti Pannini. There are so many simple items to choose from and I went with their Tuna melt sandwich. The sandwich are cut into two and the portions are huge.
Every food and soup taste like it’s made from scratch and so tasty. For dessert, we had the Blackberry ricotta mini cake.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry!
